Sara2 Lynda my son is under investigation at the moment for kidney stones, as he constantly passes blood in his urine
AnnaS Hmmm, because of my disability I have a funny kidney have had stones 2-3 times.
Lynda because yet again, I have a stone the size of a golf ball, and my kidney is now seriously not good. and an option they are thinking of is removing the kidney. I've had over 8 sessions of lithotrispy.

Sara2 The problem is they don't seem to address the soiling Jason, only to keep him on laxatives, they seem to concentrate on everything else
Lynda Lithotripsy is underwater sonic sound waves used to break down stones and you pee out the little pieces.
Lynda it is relatively easy, as in you're drugged. and perhaps one day of pain while you pass them out.
AnnaS Oh, then Ive done that, only once.
Lynda I don't know what to do to keep them from forming. and if I drink too much, well, it ends up having a reverse effect and I get dehydrated. if that makes sense.
Jason they only seem to be treating the secondary problem, they should be focusing their attention on the primary problem/cause
Shaz I don't understand how you get dehydrated from drinking too much
Lynda exactly what I think. but none of my doctors every offer any solutions no matter how much I ask. it's very frustrating.
Sara2 This has been my argument all along, sometimes you feel as if you are banging your head againt a brick wall, I have drafted a letter to the surgeon as suggested

Sara21 They have just dropped his hours to 16 wee, so he is supposed to decide when he is going to be incontinent, ridulous isn't it
Shaz I remember at times just sitting there willing myself to hold it all in so I wouldn't embarrass myself in front of my school friends
AnnaS I had some GA but on part-time for 3-5 years..
Sara21 The problem is Jake doesn't have any control or the urge to open his bowels
Sara21 It just simply comes away all the time, trouble is he wont wear pads as he doesn't want to be different
Jason they can create an artificial sphincter now - St Marks developed it
Sara21He can change up to 10 times per day at School, but I have managed to keep him in a main stream school, with a lot of fighting I may add!
Shaz I can understand that - no one wants to be different - I certainly didn't but all the same.....the kids sensed it

AnnaS Sara, I asked for a colostomy after thinking a lot about it and half-heartedly trying biofeedback training.

Shaz luckily I had all mine done when I was under anaesthetic - pulling it out again tho was an experience lol - it just kept coming and coming - I was amazed there was so much tubing
Sara21 My Aunt who is a Consultant in Surrey has told me that Jake will end up with a colostomy as his nerves will never work on their own again
AnnaS It means that you train yout sphincter by squeezing a cylinder and you can see on a display how hard you squeez....
